Sunrise over Saint Jean de Sixt

Sunrise over Saint Jean de Sixt, Haute Savoie, France
Pictured is the sunrise over Saint Jean de Sixt on Christmas Eve. I have not enhanced these colours: it really was that good. At a time of year when the silly season is in full swing and people flock to the nearby ski resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand to enjoy skiing, queuing, tooting their horns in traffic and having a two-hour table limit in busy restaurants, it gave me great pleasure to wake up this morning and see the sun rise in such glorious light. No matter how bustling the resorts get over Christmas, the sunrise was a moment I could have all to myself.

Wishing all my readers a merry Christmas and a sunrise as gorgeous as this!

  1. Thanks Wendy, and a very Merry Christmas to you.
I would rather be trying to keep warm than trying to keep cool!

  2. Thanks Ron – I hope it wasn’t too hot on Christmas day Down Under. Very quiet here, with the marked absence of Bruno the cat who passed away a few months ago after a long and happy life.
